DSIP / Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide

Secures recovery sleep — code in STABILIS.

SC injection; IV infusion; intranasal (in some formulations)100–300 mcg SC at bedtime; 100–200 mcg IV in STABILIS and NeuroCalm Prep formulas; 4-week nightly courses

What It Is

DSIP stands for Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, a neuropeptide that aids deep sleep and has ancillary benefits on pain and stress responses. It helps induce deep Stage 3 sleep and can regulate ACTH levels.

Mechanism

DSIP helps induce deep delta wave sleep and can regulate ACTH levels. It is wonderful for patients who do not get restorative sleep — including many peri-menopausal women or stressed executives. By improving recovery sleep, it indirectly supports longevity (since sleep is when growth hormone surges, cellular repair happens, etc.). It primes the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing peri-procedure anxiety and improving sleep depth pre-operatively.

How Dr. Emer Uses It

Emer includes DSIP in the Longevity Stack (100–300 mcg SC at bedtime), STABILIS IV (100–200 mcg IV), and as a case-directed add-in to the PRIME IV (100–200 mcg IV for anxious patients). Emer frames it as "engineering a nocturnal regeneration chamber" through biochemistry. In the DSIP Stack it is combined with Epitalon + maybe low-dose melatonin: DSIP to induce deep stages of sleep, Epitalon to normalize circadian rhythm and support pineal function. Given to patients with insomnia, overtraining, high cortisol, or in high-stress post-op recovery.

Key Benefits

  • Induces deep delta wave (Stage 3) sleep for true restorative recovery
  • Regulates ACTH levels and modulates the stress hormone axis
  • Reduces chronic pain levels by improving deep sleep (reported in studies)
  • Pre-procedural anxiolytic — primes parasympathetic tone before surgery
  • Indirectly supports longevity by enabling growth hormone surges during sleep
  • Improves sleep for peri-menopausal women and high-stress executives

Safety & Considerations

Not habit-forming. Can cause grogginess if dose is too high. Some individuals paradoxically do not feel it — there is variability. Can cause mild sedation; instruct patient not to drive if groggy. Generally safe; consent as research use. Safety: We watch for mild sedation — DSIP can make some patients a bit drowsy (that is intended). Ensure they are monitored if they stand (fall risk). Generally safe; avoid if the patient is pregnant or has severe bradycardia (magnesium in NeuroCalm could exacerbate slow heart rate).
