Selank
Calm focus and cognitive clarity without sedation.
Intranasal spray — 1–2 mg total per day intranasally (split into 2–3 doses) in 50/50 Selank:Semax combination; 4–8 week cycles
What It Is
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from tuftsin (an immune peptide) developed in Russia. It is anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and has been used clinically in Russia as a nootropic compound that reduces anxiety without sedation.
Mechanism
Selank is anxiolytic and works somewhat like a natural benzodiazepine without sedation. It modulates GABAergic tone and reduces anxiety while enhancing cognitive function. In Emer's Longevity Stack, it is typically combined 50/50 with Semax as a nasal spray. Selank reduces stress hormones and modulates the immune system (tuftsin-derived), reducing inflammatory cytokines. It helps patients restore "calm focus and cognitive clarity" without the dependence or sedation of pharmaceutical anxiolytics.
How Dr. Emer Uses It
In the Longevity & Sleep Stack, Selank/Semax are used as a Selank + Semax 50/50 nasal spray, dosing 1–2 mg total per day intranasally (split into 2–3 doses) for 4–8 week cycles. Emer's program uses them for executives or burnout patients to restore "calm focus and cognitive clarity." They also promote better sleep by reducing stress. In the RE:STORE phase of RECODEX, mitochondrial and metabolic peptides (MOTS-c, CJC-1295, NAD+) "code" for enhanced function and correction of imbalances.

Safety & Considerations
Both Selank and Semax are not FDA-approved in the US (used in Russia with regulatory approval). Given as nasal sprays — main side effect is mild nasal irritation or rare headache. No dependence issues. Labeled as "R&D narrative only" in some documents because it is more experimental, but clinical results in practice have been good. Generally safe; both are research peptides in the US context.
